Terms

Terms for using RedactDock.

These terms set the ground rules for our website, Chrome extension, pilots, and related services.

Last updated September 10, 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing or using RedactDock, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you use RedactDock for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization. A signed order form, pilot agreement, enterprise agreement, or other written agreement controls if it conflicts with these terms.

2. The service

RedactDock provides document-privacy tools designed to identify and replace supported sensitive information before a user sends a document to a supported AI service. The Chrome Web Store version runs as a standalone Chrome extension and does not require a companion application. It requires an active RedactDock license. Availability and supported file types may change as browsers and third-party websites change.

3. Accounts and authorized use

  • Provide accurate account information and keep credentials confidential.
  • Use the service only for lawful purposes and within your authority to handle the selected documents.
  • Follow your employer's, client's, and professional obligations regarding confidential information.
  • Notify us promptly if you believe an account or deployment has been compromised.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for configuring your chosen AI services.

4. Important privacy-tool limitations

RedactDock is a risk-reduction tool, not a guarantee that every document is safe or that every sensitive value will be detected. Results depend on file quality, document structure, enabled rules, language, and supported formats. Scanned, damaged, encrypted, unsupported, or low-quality files may be blocked or require a separate local OCR workflow.

You must review output and use professional judgment before sharing or relying on it. RedactDock does not provide legal, tax, accounting, medical, cybersecurity, or compliance advice.

5. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

  • Use RedactDock to violate law, privacy rights, intellectual-property rights, or contractual duties.
  • Attempt to bypass security controls, access another customer's data, or interfere with the service.
  • Introduce malware, abusive traffic, or documents intended to exploit parsers or connected systems.
  • Resell, sublicense, copy, or reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Misrepresent RedactDock as affiliated with or endorsed by a third-party AI provider.

6. Third-party services

RedactDock may interoperate with services such as ChatGPT, Claude, scheduling providers, browser stores, and infrastructure providers. Those services are controlled by their respective providers and governed by their own terms. RedactDock is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft.

7. Fees

The extension is free to install, but its document-sanitization functionality requires an active paid RedactDock subscription. Current plan information is available at redactdock.com/#pricing. Fees, billing periods, taxes, renewal terms, cancellation rights, and refunds are described in the applicable order form or purchase flow. RedactDock—not Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, or Anthropic—is the seller of paid RedactDock services unless a written agreement expressly states otherwise. One active Chrome installation is permitted per individual license unless an order form states otherwise.

8. Ownership and feedback

RedactDock and its licensors retain all rights in the service, software, branding, and documentation. You retain rights in your documents and output. You grant us only the rights reasonably needed to provide the service under these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you provide feedback, we may use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not identify you without permission.

9. Pilot and preview features

Pilot, beta, preview, audit, and evaluation features may be incomplete, may change, and may be suspended or discontinued. Do not use preview features with real sensitive information unless your written agreement and deployment instructions expressly authorize that use.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or others, address nonpayment, comply with law, or respond to a material breach. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” RedactDock disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or detect every sensitive value.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RedactDock will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption. Any additional limitations or negotiated liability terms in a written customer agreement take precedence over this section.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. The updated date will appear above, and additional notice will be provided when required. Questions can be sent to hello@redactdock.com.
