Support

Get RedactDock working safely.

Installation guidance, supported files, common fixes, and a direct path to the RedactDock team.

Direct support

Tell us what happened—without attaching a sensitive document.

Email hello@redactdock.com with your extension version, Chrome version, and the exact error message. Use a synthetic file if an example is needed.

Before installation

  • A supported Google Chrome browser profile.
  • An active paid RedactDock license. The extension is free to install, but sanitization requires a subscription.
  • Access to the email address connected to that license so you can receive the six-digit confirmation code.
  • Access to ChatGPT or Claude in the same browser profile where the extension is installed.

No companion or separate desktop application is required. RedactDock—not Google—is the seller. View plans and purchase if your email does not yet have an active license.

Supported documents

Current document extraction supports digital PDF, DOCX, XLSX, TXT, and CSV files. Scanned PDFs and image-only documents may require a separate local OCR workflow. Unsupported, encrypted, damaged, empty, oversized, or unverifiable documents are blocked instead of being attached.

How protected attachment works

  1. Enter your licensed email in the RedactDock side panel and confirm the six-digit code.
  2. Open ChatGPT or Claude in the same browser profile.
  3. Select or drop a supported document using the website's normal attachment control.
  4. Wait for the local sanitization and verification status.
  5. Confirm that a sanitized Markdown file—not the original—appears in the composer.

Do not continue if the browser reports that processing failed or the attachment was blocked.

Common fixes

No active license

Confirm that you entered the email used for your RedactDock subscription. If you have not purchased access, view the plans on the RedactDock website.

Code does not arrive

Wait one minute, check spam or junk mail, and request a new code. Contact support if the licensed email still cannot receive it.

Device limit reached

Each license permits one active Chrome installation. Contact RedactDock support to reset the previous installation.

“OCR required”

The file does not contain a usable digital text layer. Use your approved local OCR workflow and inspect the result before trying again.

No upload control found

Open the website's attachment menu first, then retry. Supported websites sometimes change their upload interface and may require an extension update.

File is blocked

Check the file type, size, encryption, and text quality. Blocking is intentional when the extension cannot complete and verify processing.

Old sanitized files remain

Delete individual records or choose Delete all in the side panel. The library also removes records according to your configured retention period.

Privacy controls

  • Original documents and sanitized Markdown are processed and stored locally in the Chrome extension.
  • The sanitized-file library is stored in the browser profile and can be cleared by the user.
  • The extension sends licensing information—but never selected documents—to RedactDock over HTTPS.
  • Uninstalling the extension or clearing its site data removes its local browser storage.

Read the complete RedactDock Privacy Policy before using the extension.
